Dear Prospective Wrestler,
Marquette University is once again on the map in collegiate
wrestling and looks forward to continuing a great tradition of success. The 2006-2007 season will be the first time students
from Marquette can participate in a club wrestling sport and
see competition from all over the nation. Recruits from Wisconsin, Illinois,
Missouri and several other states have already dedicated themselves to showing the rest of
the nation that Marquette is once again a competitive member
of the collegiate wrestling scene. The Wrestling Club at Marquette
University is officially part of the NCWA (National Collegiate Wrestling
Association). More information on the national wrestling organization can be found at www.NCWA.net.
This year
will consist of tournaments in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa and Michigan as well
as participation in the National Tournament in Texas. We
generally wrestle 3 days a week and work out the other 2 days on strength and conditioning.
Most competitions take place on Saturdays, in the form of opens and dual meet tournaments. Practices will be held at
the Helfaer Recreation
Center in the evenings from 5:30 until 7:30 and we look forward to new
recruits. Please navigate through our website for more information and a current schedule of events.
Athletes
of all abilities and skill levels can find a place in the Marquette Wrestling Club. Although wrestling is a very demanding
and extremely difficult sport, you are allowed to push yourself as hard as you wish, without a sacrifice to your grades. We
expect you to work hard to achieve your goals and continue to perform at a high level in the classroom as well. Whether you
are interested in placing at the national tournament or just want to keep in shape, the Wrestling Club has a place for
you. Please fill out the following recruitment application and we look forward to seeing you in the room.
Sincerely,
Dan
