Eric Lombardi

Joilet Township High School - West Campus

Joliet, IL

2005-2006:  In his first competition since high school and without any practice, wrestled up two weight classes a summer open tournament, placing 3rd.

High School:  Held a career record of 104-34.  Advanced to the semi-final round of state as a sophomore, suffering an injury in the match and ending his season.  Injured both his junior and senior seasons, prior to the state series.  Defeated a two-time Wisconsin State Champion from Wisconsin Rapids-Lincoln High School during his high school career.  Awarded Second Team All-American Honors at 130 in 2004 by the Athletes of Good News Foundation.  Four-year member of his team's varsity lineup.  Two-year Head Captain of his team (2002 through 2004).

Byron High School

Byron, IL

2005-2006:  Practiced with the team, looking to compete full-time in 2006-2007.

High School:  Had a 24-2 record going into regionals senior year, suffered an injury and was unable to continue.  Was a starter for his team all four years.  During his successful career, defeated several state qualifiers and place winners.

High School:  Earned a senior season record of 28-9, coming short of making the state tournament in a competitive sectional.  Has two older brothers on the team - Nate, a junior, and Justin, a second-year grad student at Marquette who is entering his first year as an assistant coach of the program.

Omaha Creighton Preparatory High School

Omaha, NE

High School:  Injured his senior season, after posting 10 wins at 152.  Prior to the injury was favored to place at the state tournament.  Defeated multiple state qualifiers during his high school career, several of which were place winners.
